2. Winter Retreat
   Please join us for the CFC Retreat, a time where we can retreat to meet with the Lord in times of prayer and through His Word. This year’s speaker will be Dr. Bok-Kyou Choi and Dr. Jon Choi. It will be held on February 12-13 (Fri-Sat) at First Baptist Church and will conclude with Lord’s Day Worship at the respective locations. Register online at www.cfchome.org.
3. Retreat Prayer Meetings
   To prepare our hearts for the retreat, we will be having corporate prayer meetings at CUCC, February 1-3, Mon-Wed from 10-11pm. Wednesday Prayer Meeting will begin at 11pm immediately following the retreat prayer time.
4. Ministry Fair
   Do you enjoy singing? Do you have a knack for technology or videography? Interested in getting involved in a ministry? There are many different ministries offered at CFC and the first annual Ministry Fair will be held this Fri. Feb 5. If you would like to sign up or simply have any questions about ministry opportunities, please join us immediately following large group at Foellinger Auditorium.
5. Urbana Theological Seminary
   Would you like to learn more about church history, gain in-depth knowledge of the New Testament, or expand your understanding of mission work? Consider taking a class at Urbana Theological Seminary. We offer courses at the graduate level, undergraduate study (courses transfer into UIUC) and for non-credit. 6. Small Group Bible Studies
   Small group Bible studies provide an invaluable opportunity for spiritual growth, deep relationships, and fellowship as a family in Christ. Our church offers undergraduate, graduate, young adult and married bible studies. If you are interested, please stop by our Visitors’ Table or contact smallgroup@cfchome.org.
7. Finances
   If you tithed or gave offering in 2009, your 2009 Record of Giving letter can be picked up at the book table. This will be the last week they can be picked up. After this week, they will sent to the appropriate location. Questions about this or other issues related to CFC finances can be directed to: finance@cfchome.org.
8. OIL Resources
   The 2010 OIL flash drive is loaded with OIL sermons and seminars. The 2GB flash drive will be available for $15 as well as the OIL praise CD. Please come visit the book table or visit www.winteroil.org for more resources.

"THE FATHER HEART OF GOD"

Allow me to share some memories with my father...

I remember chatting over lunch at Yu’s Mandarin on Saturday afternoons.

I remember Cubs games at beautiful Wrigley Field on my birthdays.

I remember my first time on the golf course where he wanted to show me one of his joys.

I remember the rustling sounds of the newspaper behind us as my brother and I played video games (he just wanted to be in the same room).

I remember finding him asleep on the sofa when I came home late because he wanted to make sure I got home safe that night.

I remember holding his hand for the last time before he lost his battle with cancer.

There are so many wonderful memories when I think about my earthly father. But the best part to me is that it is all only a glimpse of The Father Heart of God. If it is merely a glimpse, it leads me to wonder about the depth of our eternal Father’s love for us. How about you?

We’d like to invite you to Covenant Fellowship Church’s Winter Retreat: “The Father Heart of God”. Fittingly, our guest speakers will be the father/son combination of Dr. Bok Kyou Choi and Dr. Jon Choi.

Dr. Bok-Kyou Choi is the founding pastor of Korea Central Church in Seoul Korea, a Christian community that began in 1962; where he served as the senior pastor for 42 years until his retirement in 2004. He received a M.Div. from Seoul Theological Seminary and a D.Min. from Silliman University Divinity School. Dr. Choi has been one of the influential revival speakers in Korea during the spiritual awakenings in 1970s and 1980s. God has been using him to take the message of God’s love to more than 50 countries. He has been married to his wife, Kum-Soo, for almost 50 years.

Dr. Jon Choi serves as Lead Pastor at Global Harvest Church in Dallas, Texas. He received a B.S. in Industrial Technology from San Jose State University, a Masters of Divinity and a Ph.D. in Old Testament from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is also an adjunct professor at Dallas Baptist University. Passionate about teaching and preaching, he has taught and spoken at various functions and seminars in 15 countries around the globe. Praising God through music is also one of his passions, and he has toured extensively as a guitarist with praise bands such as Living Praise (Christ For The Nations Institute), Proclaim, and now with Eight Hour Shift (EHS), an alternative rock band. He and his wife Janet have two daughters, Danielle and Andrea, and they reside in Lewisville, Texas.

The retreat will take place at First Baptist Church [map] on Friday, February 12 to Saturday, February 13. We will conclude the retreat weekend with Sunday services at 9:30AM at Brookens Gymnasium [map] and 12:30PM at CUCC [map] on Sunday, February 14.

February 12-14 will be a weekend to remember. We hope to see you there!

7. Pyongyang University of Science and Technology (PUST)
   A special presentation will be given for all those who are interested in the work God is doing in North Korea through Pyongyang University of Science and Technology. This is North Korea’s first institution founded and sustained by outside individuals with a vision to demonstrate God’s love through higher education. Many individuals have participated in this project from South Korea, China and the US. The president of PUST, James Kim, will be visiting Urbana-Champaign on January 27. If you’re interested, service will be held at 7pm First Presbyterian Church of Urbana (602 W. Green St). The service will be held in both Korean and English.
