Leena Varughese
We had the opportunity to visit a jail and share a couple of dramas/ testimonies with the inmates. The jail consisted of mostly men who just really looked like they needed Jesus. We performed the Ragman skit. In this skit there are four hurting people: crying, crippled, hungry, and blind. Jesus heals each person and takes their infirmities upon himself. Then the people that he heals crucify Him. Rachel and I played the role of the cross Jesus was nailed to. Jesus was played by Adin.
After the Jesus character was nailed to the cross, he struggled and pushed his arms against the cross. Apparently the Adin’s arm that was on my side was bleeding from when he fell on the ground(after healing the hurting people). After Adin’s final scream, he fell to the ground one final time, and it was then I realized his blood from his arm wiped on my arm.
Initially I was really grossed out. But, then I sat down and thought about what had just happened. At that moment I felt like God was trying to remind me His blood was not only shed for the prisoners or the other people we have been ministering to, but it was for me,Leena.
This really impacted me because just like I was telling others that Jesus was their only hope, but He was my only hope as well. Also, along with shedding His blood for me, I was also reminded of the many promises that come with being His.
Through this trip, the main thing that competed with giving God my undivided heart was fear about the future. However, through the blood that was on me I felt like God was telling me how personally He loved me, and that He still has a wonderful plan for my life wherever He leads me, and to just trust Him.
